Ambulance Safety Lunch and Learn

Speaker: Michael Kurz, MD, Assoc. Prof., Dept. of Emergency Medicine at VCU and Operational Medical Director for Henrico County, VA

Dr. Kurz will examine the acceleration forces EMS providers are subjected to while transporting patients to the hospital, specifically those in cardiac arrest. He will also describe the impact of those forces upon the EMS provider's ability to maintain balance and deliver effective CPR and briefly discuss methods to mitigate the risk to patients, EMS providers, and the public.
