All hands-on training classes have a pre-requisite training requirement.

Registrants must be at least 18 years of age and must submit a copy of your NFPA 1001 Standard for Fire Fighter Professional Qualifications / Fire Fighter 1 completion card/certificate (minimum requirement, may send certificates that exceed FF1), or state/national professional qualifications certificate, or notarized letter from FD Chief that attests to completion of such training must be faxed to 952.225.0511 or emailed to HotCertificate@FirehouseExpo.com at time of registration.

This is a program that will teach firefighters how to face, engage and overcome deadly tactical situations that may be encountered on the fireground. Specific situations such as being entangled, being pinned, encountering sudden high heat situations, air loss and becoming lost are just a few of the situations that we will recreate. Each firefighter will first be instructed on how to handle each of these problems and will then be exposed to each situation. Specific tactics including calling for help will be applied to each challenge station.

Today's dynamic, volatile and complex fireground make today's search operations more challenging than ever before! Influencing factors include: lack of realistic, relevant and appropriate fireground search operations training, lack of relevant and scenario-based thermal imaging training, large non-compartmentalized areas within structures and lack of education/experience. This program will provide current, relevant, immediately applicable and appropriate fireground search training in vent-enter-search operations, multi-story/high-rise search operations, thermal imaging with live fire and techniques for rescuing civilians. This program will increase the strategic, tactical and task level abilities of command officers, company officers and firefighters, so that "Nobody Gets Left Behind"!

8:00 AM Photo HW4 - Rope Rescue Made Simple - AS OF 7/15/10 THIS CLASS HAS 3 SPOTS AVAILABLE

Providing everyday first responders with a wealth of rope rescue knowledge, presented in a manner that makes even the most difficult topics easy to understand and perform. Students will look at topics including principals behind basic knots, NFPA 1983, anchor, belay, and mechanical advantage systems as well as repelling, lowering and patient packaging operations. Upon completion of this class students will leave with a confidence they came without. Students will see that whether you're on an engine, truck, or rescue company with the right tools they can get the job done.

Required: Long pants, NFPA approved fire or rescue helmet, rope gloves, NFPA 1983 approved class 3 harness

Captain Morris first teaches, then demonstrates, and finally allows students to utilize the basics of forcible entry with "tools of the trade". Students will progress through the lock methods, forcible entry with hydraulic and power tools to gain access into burning buildings. The fine art of forcible entry, tips, techniques and the proper safety procedures are explained and tested with real steel and heavy locks. Captain Morris brings to life street-proven methods you've read about in training manuals.

8:00 AM Photo HW6 - Operational Tactics - Live Fire Exercise - AS OF 7/13/10 THIS CLASS IS SOLD OUT

This intense, eight-hour program is a unique opportunity to put your skills to work in an actual live fire environment. Join Chief Blatus and his team of seasoned instructors as they review the basic techniques required to operate safely and efficiently on the fire ground as part of an Engine, Truck or Rapid Intervention team. Students will participate in exercises designed to challenge the tenacity of the team as you maneuver though a state of the art burn facility. Team/victim search strategies, emergency egress, extinguishment techniques, firefighter removal and forcible entry concepts will all be reviewed and utilized. Come ready to train! This class is a full eight hours of serious, hands on training designed to push you to your limit in a demanding training environment. Sign up quickly as class size is limited.

8:00 AM Photo HW8 - University of Extrication NFPA 1670 Operations Level Advanced Vehicle Rescue - AS OF 7/8/10 THIS CLASS IS SOLD OUT

Chief Moore has the participants in this HOT program organize into small working crews to accomplish challenging extrication tasks including trunk tunneling, floorboard openings, roof-resting roof removal, and more. State-of-the-art tools are provided by various vendors for use during the program.

8:00 AM Photo HW9 - Coordinated and Controlled Fire Attack - AS OF 6/29/10 THIS CLASS IS SOLD OUT

Students may have participated in an engine company class or maybe many of them. They may have gone to classes on truck company operations, ventilation and search and rescue. This new class will put them all together in a coordinated and controlled fire attack. Students will be placed in fire situations as either a member of an engine or truck company and will be allowed to fulfill that function.

This class will include a hands-on drill and a critique which will be open discussion into the firegrounds and problems faced by the fire service today. The class concentrates on the basic elements of engine and ladder operations and how they safely accomplish their primary functions by coordinating the attack trhough standard operating guidelines, communication, and the development of strong basic tactics that are time tested and proven. This class is intended to put students in real life situations that have occurred and allow them to learn from them in a drill situation.
