Last week we looked at the new changes to the NFPA Standard on Automotive Fire Apparatus taking effect after January 1, 2009. These changes are the most significant to the standard in many years. After we respond on the apparatus to whatever type of call we have (fire, EMS or an emergency) we must be ready. “Are You Ready?” presented by John J. Salka, Jr., will take a look at a "safety routine" that you can adopt and practice every time you enter the firehouse.
